The home of MSN - the Male Solidarity Network and a forum for all those who realise that... "...girls only want boyfriends who have great skills". Getting like three feet of air counts as great skills........ Sweet

What the heck is it??!!

I have had some messages of confusion regarding what the point of this blog is. I will therefore attempt to explain myself.

A couple of months ago two of the guys from my church (me being one of them) had parallel experiences where we found ourselves in a social situation as the only male. We realised that this was not good (others may argue but when you think about it will eventually agree). We wondered how this terrible situation could have developed and decided that there was a lack of solidarity amongst our mates, and that this needed to be redressed. Hence MSN, the Male Solidarity Network, was birthed. Its aims are to increase the bonds of friendship between us blokes and to also provide a forum in which skills can be shared. We had only come to realise the importance of skills after viewing the seminal movie Napoleon Dynamite, an event which has changed our lives. Hence if you have not seen this film it is imperative that you go out and buy it and watch it at least twice.

Skills come in many forms (numchuck skills, bowhunting skills...), but are not soley to be acquired in order to impress the ladies (contrary to Napoleon's statement on the matter). In fact skills are a useful tool in spreading the gospel (a separate post to follow on what is the gospel), as a story which Petros related to us (and will hopefully post) shows.

MSN is open to all and a skills acquisition weekend is planned for the near future. Spread the word and email this post to your mates - lets make this the biggest thing since Tamagotchi.

I'm all up for learning new skills. Skills make life run smoother. Some skills are more useful than others but each has its place. Even drum and bass skills. Girls love that one...Ahem.

Is this whole shebang about attracting women? I mean, like, dude, is this mainly a single man thing? Are just, y'know, sublimating?

Gappy,

It's not that shallow, as I find natural wit and charm are more than enough for the attraction of the fairer sex (not to forget chivalry). More about a bunch of guys getting together and sharing skills, for the betterment of the whole human race.

Nicky,

I wasn't saying we're being shallow - far be it from me to suggest such a thing. I was worried about what really drove it. Metaphorically, I mean.
Do you think wit and charm are what women look for?

Tweeny,

I am saddened and at the same time delighted that you have chosen to make your home here in this forum of enligtenment. I think that you need to transcend the mental barriers which have been set up concerning the qualities best found in us by the fairer sex, and alternatively consider what is it that you want?

To be honest I don't give a monkeys cos its been a long day at work and I am tired and hungry (= grouchy) so will have to revisit once I have eaten and consumed.

Taking the kingdom by storm? How do you use a storm to do that? And where do you put the kingdom?

This don't make no sense....

You're right it don't make no sense, until you watch Napoleon Dynamite and then your eyes will be opened.

i think you're dividing the world arbitrarily into those who have seen Napoleon Dynamite and those who have not? Elitism in action, surely?

A Bold First Step

Hmmm, is it really worth putting this online - will anyone ever read it - can the MSN be an internet based forum? So many questions and yet so few answers.

Praise be! I have waited several hundred years for someone to address what is a miserably deficient area of maleness. Now at last I have like-minded men with whom to share my crafts. These include:
1. Folk song writing
2. Reckless driving
3. Nose excavating
4. Benkwending

Praise be indeed, for it is the first comment which I have not had to post myself, proving that someone else has looked at this magnificent site. And from the unique description it can surely be none other than Mr Poocliffe himself. Hussah!!

Isn't it sad that I was convinced that Lafonda was going to turn out to be a bloke?

I was half relieved and half scared when I saw she was really a girl when watching the DVD extras.

I think that the creation of MSN is a noble and presecient move on the part of some fine young fellows. I feel as if it is the flagship of a fleet that has been sighted, when yet the body of the fleet is far behind, thus bringing the promise of security and salvation.
